Born and raised in Denver, Matt “Squid” Huber is a self-taught instrumentalist and songwriter with a versatile repertoire of talent. Squid’s early encounters with the underground rave scene sparked a love for the art of the DJ that he’s practiced for over two decades. Squid’s dedication to unearthing undiscovered tracks and his pursuit of technical excellence have built a style that transcends genres. He’s shared stages with Bad Boy Bill, Keoki, Josh Wink, and John Kelly, and held down floors at The Church, Beacon, and Koinonia Festival.

While he started on turntables, his creative drive evolved in parallel with digital progress into an electronic production career that includes entries on Guess Who? and Journey Deep. His work is eclectic, encompassing metal riffs, pop remixes, and fusions of tech and DnB.

Squid’s driven by craft, not clout. As the architect of a long-running weekly livestream, he contributes to the health of our scene by showcasing hand-picked and undiscovered area DJs. To him, dancers are essential players in sets that elevate the night and bring the energy—whether he’s playing to a few or a full house. He’s earned support from promoters and performers who book him at some of Denver’s most exciting events. Squid’s on solid footing, and he’s poised to reach beyond. As he continues to break beyond the ordinary, his sights are set on bringing passion and purpose to anywhere great music belongs.
